"P. S. I Meant to Tell You": The Postscript Zine

Sarabande's ⚡ZINE LUNCH!⚡ presents "P. S. 'I Meant To Tell You': The Postscript Zine," a free workshop with Alina Stefanescu. The postscript is the addendum, the thing that alters the shape of what was said. Exploring poetics postscripts by Seamus Heaney, Michael Burkard, Agha Shahid Ali, Langston Hughes, and Malvika Jolly, we will create a zine that combines the immediacy of the epistolary with the metaphysical impossible of the posthumous. On the way, we will listen to the birds outside Rosa Luxembourg's window, as rediscovered by John Berger. What does it mean to recognize the other? How does the song of the bird travel across time and into the lyric? What shape will the postscript assume in order to speak?

For this workshop you will need:

- 8 1/2 x 11 paper, folded into a zine (video here)
- Pen
- Scissors
- Colored pencils
